Insights
MFA Insights, in partnership with Project Pathfinder SG, recently organised a community engagement and Iftar session at Muhammadiyah Welfare Home (MWH). This initiative forms a core part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment to fostering inclusivity, social mobility and giving back to the community.
Sharing a meal during this holy month provided a meaningful platform for our teams and partners to connect directly with the residents, moving beyond traditional philanthropy to build genuine rapport. The evening was defined by high-spirited conversations, where the aspirations of the youths met the professional insights of our volunteers.
The event marked the beginning of a strategic collaboration between Project Pathfinder SG and MWH. By integrating our unique resources, we are co-creating a new suite of developmental programmes designed to bridge the gap between institutional care and professional readiness.
This partnership ensures that every MWH resident has access to the tools, networks, and confidence necessary to navigate their future paths. We are not just sharing an Iftar; we are investing in a sustainable ecosystem of support that empowers these young individuals to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Variasi Performing Arts was established in 2001 as a non-profit organisation in Singapore, initially a drama and dance club providing a vital platform for emerging talent and youths to showcase their work to the community. Through partnerships with the People’s Association as the Arts Residency for both Thomson Community Club and Canberra Community Club, Variasi has gained recognition as both an incubator for aspiring young artists and a centre of excellence for performing arts practitioners.
The name “Variasi” (Malay for “Variety”) reflects a multi-disciplinary approach, embracing all aspects of the performing arts from traditional to contemporary, theatre to music and dance. This all-embracing approach supports our core CSR priority: to provide youths a platform to pursue and nurture their passion, maximizing their creative potential.
A central component of our CSR initiative is the emphasis on training development for resident artists through the Akar Research and Educational Programme (REAP). This program serves as a core developmental path, building empowerment and capacity while fostering a multiplier and peer engagement model where artists upgrade skills and knowledge in Cultural and Traditional Arts. This initiative enables Variasi artists to prepare for future National and International performances.
Key program elements:
Empowerment: Providing training in artistic skill sets, fostering new knowledge and broadening perspectives for resident artists to realize their unique artistic potential.
Professional Development: Building confidence and professional identity through opportunities to showcase talents and collaborate on projects.
At MFA Insights, we believe in investing in the future of our community by supporting initiatives that build strong character, develop essential life skills and empowerment among Singapore’s youth. We are proud to partner with Project Pathfinder SG.
We are committed to empowering youths through our partnership with Project Pathfinder SG, an organization focused on developing young individuals who embody adaptive leadership and strong moral character. Their mission perfectly aligns with our belief that confident, guided youth are the foundation of a robust society.
The organization is notably chaired by Mr. Fahmi Aliman, a respected community leader and former Mayor of the South East District. Under his guidance, Project Pathfinder SG has established a proven track record of mentorship and community building
Project Pathfinder SG effectively develops its participants through four carefully structured, key programmatic pillars:
Character Development: Instilling core values, ethics and a strong sense of integrity necessary for personal and professional success.
Community Involvement: Encouraging empathy and civic responsibility through active participation in community service, ensuring youths understand their role in the broader society.
Career Readiness: Equipping participants with practical skills, exposure to industries and professional etiquette needed to transition successfully into the workforce.
Mentoring: Providing access to experienced mentors who offer guidance, support and real-world advice, helping youths navigate challenges and seize opportunities.
To date, Project Pathfinder has made a significant impact on more than 400 youths from ITE College East, providing them with the necessary tools for success and encouraging them to actively contribute their efforts back to the community. These programs are designed not just to teach skills, but to inspire a lifelong commitment to leadership and social responsibility.
MFA Insights is proud to support these impactful initiatives. We believe that investing time, resources and mentorship into these young lives is critical. This partnership underscores our commitment to ensuring that a strong community and empowered youth remain the essential components of a thriving society for generations to come.
