Jambinewsroom.com, Jambi – The Jambi City Government (Pemkot) continues to move forward in accelerating digital transformation. As part of its grand vision towards a Smart City based on immersive and integrative technology, the Jambi City Government officially established a strategic partnership with PT Scavai Alliance Indonesia through the signing of a Memorand of Understanding (MoU) for the development of Metaland Kota Jambi, a digital city concept that combines technological sophistication, local culture, and youth empowerment.
The signing of the MoU took place on Friday afternoon (18/7/2025) at Griya Mayang, the official residence of the Mayor of Jambi, and was carried out directly by the Mayor of Jambi, Dr. dr. H. Maulana, MKM, together with the President Director of PT Scavai Alliance Indonesia, Hendri Susendy.
Through this collaboration, Jambi City will become one of the pioneering cities in Indonesia that integrates immersive technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and interactive digital platforms in the development of urban areas, cultural destinations, and public services.
The Jambi City Metaland project is designed as a digital twin of Jambi City’s iconic areas, accessible not only physically but also virtually. This initiative aims to expand the reach of digital tourism, strengthen the local creative economy, and increase youth engagement in technology-based city development.
In his statement, following the signing of the MoU, Mayor Maulana said that the signing was a follow-up to previous meetings between the Jambi City Government and PT. Scavai Alliance Indonesia through PT. Scavai Singapore’s Project Advisor, Fahmi.

“Thank God and I express my gratitude because finally this signing was carried out to advance and develop each other, especially for the city of Jambi, to initiate other opportunities for cooperation,” he said.
“This is a concrete manifestation of the collaboration between PT. Scavai and the City Government in various fields, such as the economy, tourism, MSMEs, and technology. This will certainly provide significant benefits for us,” he continued.
He also explained that the development of Metaland, the primary focus of the agreement signing, aims to introduce Jambi City more broadly to the public, especially the younger generation. This concept is expected to foster emotional engagement and interest in Jambi’s culture, history, and local riches through digital approaches and immersive technology.
On that occasion, Mayor Maulana also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to PT Scavai Alliance Indonesia for choosing Jambi City as the location for this strategic cooperation project.
“Of course, I would like to express my gratitude. We hope that the MoU signed today can be quickly followed up with concrete cooperation, resulting in programs that have a positive impact on the community and the progress of Jambi City,” concluded the Mayor of Jambi.
On that occasion, PT Scavai Singapore Project Advisor, Fahmi, expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the collaboration with the Jambi City Government which aims to elevate the image and potential of Jambi City to a higher level.
“This is an important first step and will go down in history. Hopefully, this collaboration will strengthen the relationship between PT Scavai and the Jambi City Government in the future,” he said.

Fahmi also expressed his optimism that the signing of this MoU is not the end, but rather an opening door for various other cooperation opportunities in the future, which can encourage the increased presence of Jambi City at the regional, national, and international levels.
“I’m sure there are many other things we can do together beyond what we agreed on today to continue improving the quality of development and progress in Jambi City,” he said.
Fahmi concluded his statement by emphasizing his commitment to continue contributing to the development of Jambi City.
“I am very humbled and proud to be able to contribute with all my heart and ability for the advancement of Jambi City,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, PT Scavai Singapore Project Director, Amran, explained that this collaboration aims to bring Jambi City to the world stage through an educational approach based on local history and culture.
“We designed this project as a pilot project, a first step in introducing Jambi City to the world. We don’t aim to invite people to come, but rather to provide compelling and engaging information about Jambi’s strengths and uniqueness, so that people will naturally come,” Amran explained.
He emphasized that Jambi’s rich history and culture represent a huge potential that can be packaged in a modern and interactive way through technology, thereby attracting the attention of the global public.
Regarding financing, Amran explained that the project will be funded by a network of investors who have collaborated with PT Scavai for the past 28 years. Furthermore, various other strategic approaches will be pursued to ensure the project’s sustainability and success.
On the same occasion, the President Director of PT Scavai Indonesia, Hendri, said that the technology sector is one of the main focuses in this collaboration, with the aim of encouraging the transformation of Jambi City into a smart city.
“Technology is a priority element in realizing a Smart City, and of course, it must also be supported by the readiness and quality of Human Resources (HR),” he said.
He also added his hope that the implementation of the Smart City concept that has been implemented in a number of regions by PT Scavai, can also be implemented in Jambi City, especially in providing understanding to the younger generation about the importance of technology and digitalization.
“Hopefully, what we’ve been doing can also be adopted in Jambi City, especially for young people, so they understand the meaning of Smart City, which can ultimately have a positive impact on economic growth,” he concluded.
